Day 9: Keepers of Elysium

Next deadline: Tuesday, February 21st at 11:59 EST

Team Members:

Captain Destin
Nirkit
A random guard

Sufficiently happy with the results of his adventure, Destin thought up a clever way to increase both his strength and luck while swimming!

…as it turns out, swimming was good for your muscles, and swimming in the wake of waves dying down from a particularly deadly storm was a great way to test his luck.  Destin made it part of the way back to the boat, feeling like he had a little bit more [strength] and much more [luck], but right as a large wave decided to pull him under, Nirkit mind-pulled him over it.  The clutch pulled had probably saved Destin’s life, and he was going to thank Nirkit when he got back-

-but then Nirkit continued to pull him in short tugs while Destin was trying to swim back.  Sometimes it was a helpful little aid on his journey, but a lot of the time he got pulled mid stroke into a wave of water, salt stinging his eyes and he flopped around, trying to regain composure.  Once he was finally on land, he had nearly walked back to the ship when Nirkit pulled him into the side of it, colliding with it face first and falling to the ground.  Weakly, Destin tried to let Nirkit know that he was back, but it took Nirkit a good while to realize this almost as if he was focusing on way too many things to really pay attention to Destin, or perhaps he was a jerk, and he kept pulling Destin into the side of the boat with a satisfying “CLUNK!”  At the end of the day though, Nirkit felt like he had more [effectiveness], as if he was better at multi-tasking but also that his concentration might not be terrible at just regular tasking.

  1. (I’d like to give a better reply to this, SINCE NIRKIT IS A JERK, but in a rush!)

Destin started to repair the boat, hoping it would increase his strength, and if it didn’t hamper the repairs, increase his luck.

  2. Nirkit helped Destin fix the boat, while also psychically wielding tools to help fix the boat, while playing six degrees to Kevin Bacon, while reciting the Qur’an, while doing Kegel exercises, while playing hackey-sack, while listening to books on tape… etc. He hoped to help Destin repair (OR MAYBE EVEN IMPROVE?!?) the boat while mostly becoming more effective.
